Hartsville High School Football: A Player’s Perspective

by: Eric Hughey

Though we have all struggled easing back into physically going to school, most people still look forward to those Friday night Football games. This is what the Senior kicker for the varsity football team, Leland Saxton, has to say about his experience playing on the field this year.

How do you feel you have played this season?

“Personally, I feel that i’ve played with a lot of integrity and tried to be the best player I can be. When I mess up I just try to move on and get better.”

How are you feeling about the last game of the season?

“The last game is definitely gonna be a tough one! Playing with teammates and coaches here at Hartsville really has had a huge impact on my life!”

What were the biggest struggles with COVID restrictions?

“The biggest struggle with COVID restrictions was having to wear a mask everywhere and getting temperature checked every day for practice and games!”
