The Dodgers’ Slump by Andrew Askins

Recently, the Dodgers have lost 7 of their last 10 games. They were on pace for one of the best records of all time, but now it will be much harder after their recent slump. The Dodgers have a series coming up against the Cubs and will hope to bounce back.

The Dodgers have been riddled with injuries as Cody Bellinger, Zach McKinstry, Cory Knebel, Victor Gonzalez, and David Price are all key players who will be out for at least 10 days. Cody Bellinger has been batting and has said he feels little to no pain.

Clayton Kershaw and Julio Urias have still been able to produce from a pitching standpoint despite the team’s slow offensive production. Julio Urias recently pitched 7 1 run innings and helped win the game.

Clayton Kershaw has been dominant this year and has pitched well in all his starts. The most runs he has given up was three, but the offense failed to produce and the game resulted in a loss for the Dodgers.

Yesterday the Dodgers had a 16-4 win so that may be the end of the slump. AJ Pollock and Matt Beaty combined for 15 RBIs. Pollock had two home runs along with an RBI double, while Beaty had a grand slam and three RBI singles.

The Dodgers might be beginning their comeback run after a bad two weeks. Hopefully they will be able to get out of their slump and return to their previous dominance.
